Bomonti, a place that still has potential for livable, shareable, and communicative environments... In the given brief, different functions that needs private, semi-private and public spaces should be placed in the same area. So, in the project private, semi-private and public spaces that are interconnected through open corridors.
Gradually reducing the height ,the building faces towards Kazim Orbay road, which provides a more open façade with its lower story buildings. The posterior of the building faces Sıracevizler road where there are taller buildings. The ground floor is positioned on the level (104.50) of Kazim Orbay road .
By creating a longitudinal axis, the building is split between Harzemşah and Silahşör Street yet at the same time combines these two contrasting streets; Harzemşah being secluded and calm while Silahşör is the opposite.
In areas where the building is broken down into specific parts, masses that tie these divisions are added. The bridge on the northwest façade ties the two different buildings while it accents an entrance point to the area from Harzemşah Street..
Openings/voids made on the buildingreinforce its connection to the northwestern and southeastern sections of the area. These voids also enable the formation of a probable public square through the support of a historical local characteristic, the Georgian Catholic Church.
The various splits and divisions on the building, help achieve the desired creation of a square on the topographical level of the Georgian Catholic Church. For every new floor produced, split or extruded surfacesare positioned opposite from the previous level’s breaking direction. Through this formation method, viewpoints to open corridors located on different levels are achieved.
